Day 12 – A Day For Ryan

Today we decided to rest in Orvieto, Italy. Since it was the 12th anniversary of my son’s death, I devoted the day to thinking about him and the amazing man that he was. My fellow travelers and I visited the Orvieto Cathedral, lit candles, attended mass, and raised a glass of bourbon to Ryan’s short but full life. The good news is that Ryan knew that I loved him … and still does.

Thinking of you and Ryan, raising a cup of coffee. Indeed, he knew and knows you love him. ❤️Maggiep.s. I’ve loved following your adventure😎Sent from my iPad

Also good news is that you know Ryan loved you, Pete. I will never forget the man with the exploding heart who came over to my desk in BBIC and shared that his son had legally changed his name from Ryan Christopher Poston to Ryan Carter Poston. There is no better action Ryan could have taken to seal his relationship to you as a father to him as a son. He may have taken this name to his grave, but you know his spirit lives on in all the lives he touched. I send my love to you and Lisa. – Mary
