Up, up, and Away

I’ve spent most of the day today packing and repacking. I have to say it is a bit scary to think that I’m going to Europe for 2 weeks with nothing more than a backpack. Also, my pack Is a bit heavier than before, but I’ve got everything on the list. I’ve decided NOT to take an extra pair of shoes since my blister is mostly healed (no pun intended).

My daughter Libby has offered to take me to the airport since Lisa had an emergency shopping trip near Lexington, KY this morning . When Lisa left, she gave me a tearful kiss, then I saw her jump for joy when she got outside. (Should I be worried about that?)

I spoke to Stephen this morning, he is already in Rome and making last minute preparations. I told him that my walking sticks had not been received by the hotel yet, so I’m sure that I won’t have them to use on this trip. According to the US Postal Service, my package was sent to the wrong part of Italy, it is now being “redirected”. (Whatever that means?) I’ll see if I can get some in Rome before we leave.
