Forward movement

In the war against blisters, I’m definitely moving forward. After consulting with my chief medical officer (my wife), we agreed that I should still refrain from a strenuous workout today. My foot is still very red. So, instead of putting on another blister bandage, donning my hiking boots, and hitting the practice trail (golf course), I put a band-aid on the sore and secured it with some athletic tape, put on my sneakers, and went for a modest walk on the sidewalk.

After 3 miles, there was no pain or discomfort. So, I’m now toying with the idea of bringing my sneakers along for the trip, in case I encounter some blisters on the trail. The question is … are they worth the extra weight? Any advice appreciated.
